Department of Homeland Security announces new electronic visa waiver affecting those traveling to or via U.S. The Department of Homeland Security has announced the following changes to the United States entry regulations effective January 12, 2009. Those travelling to or via the USA must now register online at least 72hours prior to departureto obtain an electronic travel authorization. This new electronic visa waiver affects anyonetravelling to or via theUSA holding a passport from one of the following countries:
For further information about the new travel authorization for the United States see Follow the instructions to submit an on-line application for an automatic travel authorization. If the application fails, travellers will need to contact their nearest US Consulate to obtain a visa.
As of March 1, 2010, Canadian citizens, including those with dual nationality, will be required to present a valid passport in order to enter Mexico. Canadians without a valid passport will be returned to Canada.
