In November
2006, I took my first trip down south with
my boyfriend Dan to the Royal Decameron.
This resort was fantastic! There were so
many restaurants to choose from, you could
eat at anytime and the food was unbelievable
(definitely have some of the guacamole). We
kept busy the whole time we were there on
and off the resort.
We
did two day excursions through the hotel. The first was an army jeep trip to the
jungle with the most informative guide ending with a delicious BBQ dinner and
drinks. The second was a snorkeling trip with guides that picked up the water
creatures and brought them to you. As we were heading back on our catamaran,
dozens of dolphins surrounded our boat as they came up for their evening feed –
it was the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. And we also saw two humpback
whales too. I recommend this time of year for the sea life – they start coming
into the bay to get away from the cold of the ocean.
The
resort had so many activities to choose from, you could literally do something
from dawn until dusk. The resort staff were so friendly and fun, and there was a
different show every night that was not only entertaining, but usually
hilarious!!! And the disco was a great way to finish off the day with great
music and dancing.
