DAY 1:
Toronto to Ottawa, Ontario
Join us as we
travel eastward to Ottawa, our Nation’s Capital. Upon arrival we have a tour
of the city of Ottawa followed by a Welcome Dinner and get together. (D)
DAY 2:
Quebec City, Quebec
From Ottawa we
travel to Chez Dany’s, where we enjoy a Lumberjack’s Feast of traditional
dishes. Then on to Quebec City for a tour of
the only walled
city in North America. (B,L)
DAY 3:
Bathurst, New Brunswick
Today as we leave
the Province of Quebec and enter New Brunswick, we take time to visit the
Atlantic Salmon Lodge. A guide will explain how avid fisherman travel from
all over the world to fish the rivers of Atlantic Canada. Our overnight stop
is at Bathurst. (B)
DAY 4:
Charlottetown, P.E.I.
This morning we
find ourselves on the Acadian Coast of New Brunswick, and here we visit
Acadian Historical Village, for a look at this lively culture. At Cape
Tormentine we journey to Prince Edward Island via the
famous “fixed
link” bridge. Continue to Charlottetown for our overnight stay and an
included Lobster Dinner. (B,D)
DAY 5:
Charlottetown, P.E.I.
As P.E.I. is one
of Canada’s prettiest provinces, we have planned a free day here, for you to
enjoy your own time in downtown Charlottetown OR follow the optional
suggestions of your Tour Director. (B)
DAY 6:
Iles de la Madeline, Quebec
A casual morning
as we travel to Montague, enjoying the scenic countryside and small
farms along the
way. Here we board a Wildlife Boat Cruise to learn about and view Seals and
a variety of sea birds, which make P.E.I. their summer home. Then we
continue to Souris, P.E.I., where we will board the afternoon ferry to the
Magdalen Islands. The crossing will take approximately 5 hours. Comprised of
about twelve islands, Iles de la Madeleine is located in the middle of the
Gulf of St. Lawrence, but is actually only 100 km in total length. The ferry
will arrive into Cap aux Meules and here you will discover a beautiful
Maritime setting of small villages, miles of amazing beaches and very
friendly people that trace their roots to Acadian origins. We check into our
hotel for a three night stay. (B) |

DAY 7:
Iles de la Madeleine, Quebec
Today we
have arranged a guided tour to the western islands of Ile du Cap aux
Meules and Ile du Havre Aubert. This will help orient you to all of
the restaurants and shops that are within an easy walk of the Ship’s
dock and provide a unique first look at the culture of Iles de la
Madeleine. Lunch is included as part of the day tour. (B,L)
DAY 8:
Iles de la Madeleine, Quebec
Our
scheduled day tour today will take us to the eastern islands,
passing many terrific
Sand
Dunes along the way. We will tour Lighthouses, the Salt Mine
Interpretative centre, the Herring Smoke House Museum and more. Be
sure to have your camera ready as we will view some dramatic Sand
Stone cliffs that make for terrific pictures. (B,L)
DAY 9:
Moncton, New Brunswick
This
morning the ferry leaves at 8:00 a.m. and we sail across the Gulf of
St. Lawrence to P.E.I. Then we see more of the beautiful P.E.I.
countryside as we make our way back to the Confederation Bridge.
Tonight we are in charming Moncton, New Brunswick. Here your Tour
Director will discuss the Peticodiac River and the unique effects of
the Tidal Bore, caused by the rising Bay of Fundy tides. (B)
DAY 10:
Edmundston, New Brunswick
An ever
changing scenery today, as we leave the Forested regions around
Moncton, pass through the rural farmlands of the Woodstock area,
follow the Saint John river for a distance
and pass
a number of “kissing bridges” including the famous Hartland Covered
Bridge, the world’s longest. Enroute, we will take time to visit
Kings Landing Historical Settlement, a chance to view early Maritime
lifestyles. (B)
DAY 11:
Montreal, Quebec
A
relaxing morning stroll through the flowers at the New Brunswick
Botanical Gardens of Edmundston, before we board the motor coach and
make our way along the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, to
Montreal for our final night together. Tonight a fabulous dinner
together in the Old Port of Montreal. (B,D)
DAY 12:
Home
Our final
day together with our new friends from the tour. Share some stories
and exchange addresses, before we reach your joining points and bid
you farewell. (B) |
